The mezzanine floor has many advantages:

• Space is used rationally. The owners do not just admire the high ceiling, they correctly use this feature of the room.
• There is additional space that can be used in completely different ways.
• The mezzanine looks always advantageous, beautiful, the room gets an original design.

But there are also disadvantages:

• A room with a high ceiling always has excellent acoustics. This is great for a concert hall, but not for living quarters. It is impossible to retire on the mezzanine floor – all sounds from below will be perfectly audible.
• The mezzanine floor usually does not have its own windows, that is, you have to worry about additional lighting.
• Warm air tends to rise, so it can be stuffy on the mezzanine.
• The staircase to the mezzanine floor will take up part of the room. However, this minus is leveled by the appearance of additional usable space at the top.

You can use a residential mezzanine in different ways. But most often they equip here:

As beams, you can use a channel, reinforced concrete products or wood. It is very important to remember that the mezzanine floor should be as light as possible! Therefore, a tree is the best option. Wooden panels, hollow ceramic slabs, lightweight hollow panels can be used as the load-bearing mezzanine flooring.

Important! In any case, even the strongest and most reliable mezzanine floor on a metal or reinforced concrete frame should not be overloaded! Less bulky furniture, which, moreover, on such a relatively small semi-balcony will look out of place.

The stairs to the mezzanine are most often made ordinary, marching. If there is too little space in the room below, then screw structures are used.
