How to grow seedlings in a snail and a diaper

What is a snail? Twisted in a spiral shape, inside of which the seedlings will grow. You can do everything with your own hands from a regular construction substrate. We just cut the material into strips, the average width is 10 centimeters, but it can vary depending on what we grow and in what container we put it. It is better to work on the table so that there is enough space. A strip of construction substrate is laid out on the working surface, pre-prepared soil is poured onto it. The thickness of the soil layer is no more than two centimeters.

In general, the whole process is very similar to baking a roll with a filling! It’s just that instead of a dough, a building substrate, and the filling is soil and seeds.

On the poured soil, gently, with tweezers, spread the seeds. The distance from the edge is two centimeters, the same amount between the seeds. We reach the edge of the strip and begin to twist it, you can fix it with ordinary stationery rubber bands. That’s all, the seedling snail is ready.

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in creating a snail with your own hands. After rolling, the roll with soil and seeds is placed in a low container of suitable size. You can take ordinary plastic containers, everything that is in the house. The main thing is that the container is slightly wider than the snail itself. If the container is large, you can place several packages of planted seeds next to it. When installing the snail, do not confuse the top and bottom! Seeds should be on top, and soil should be up to the top.

The advantages of growing seedlings in a snail are many:

• All materials are available. Even if you have to buy a construction substrate, it is very inexpensive. Plus, it can be used next year too! After transplanting seedlings, wash, dry and save the ready-made, already cut ribbons;
• Snails can be of any size, for different seedlings and the needs of the owners.

Problems with growing seedlings in a snail, roll-up can arise only if you violate the technology, for example, plant the seeds too thickly. Or, indent a lot from the edge of the tape. Important! In a snail, seeds can be grown without any soil at all. It is replaced by toilet paper, which is spread over the laminate backing. The paper is moistened, water is added neatly, from below, according to the level. The disadvantage is that after the appearance of green shoots, you will need to unfold the package and add soil, because the plants need feeding.

As for the diaper, these are ordinary plastic bags, garden film, just polyethylene. It is also rolled up in order to transplant already grown seedlings. Separate bundles are obtained, from which it will be convenient and easy to transplant plants into open ground.
