The main stages of assembling shower cabins

The shower cubicle is a complete product, in the sense that in addition to the pallet and doors, it has its own walls and roof. There are many and as many assembly features in models, so never throw away the instructions for the product, even if at first glance it seems like an incomprehensible set of schematic drawings. Despite some differences in assembly, the work is usually performed in a certain sequence:

1. Pallet assembly including installation of siphon and protective screen.
2. Fitting the front frame with doors.
3. Assembly and installation of the back and side panels.
4. Roof installation.
5. Connection to communications and trial run.
6. Fixing the cabin in the chosen place of the bathroom.

Preparatory work

All communications are brought to the place of the proposed installation: hot, cold water, sewerage, three-core electrical cable with grounding and all repair work is completed, if any.

Sealant selection

Assembly and installation of the shower tray

The shower tray is the base and support of the entire shower stall. The rigidity and tightness of the structure depends on its correct assembly..

Assembling a high pallet with a frame

Along with a shower tray and an apron, the kit must include fasteners: a frame, brackets for fixing the screen, studs, numerous nuts and screws.

The floor is covered with a large piece of cardboard, on which the pallet is placed upside down and the frame is tried on. All holes on the profiles must match the holes on the pallet. After fitting, the frame is temporarily removed.

Metal studs are screwed into the sockets on the pallet and fixed with a nut. The frame is lowered onto the included rods. On both sides, the profile on the rod is fixed with nuts. First, using an adjustable wrench, pull the upper ones, pressing the frame to the pallet, and then the lower ones to fix the profile. When tightening the nuts, it is important not to overdo it, as the pallet may bend and the entire structure will lose its rigidity. In addition to the studs, the frame is fixed to the pallet with screws. Their number should correspond to the number of holes, and the length is equal to the profile height + 5 mm.

If an additional support leg is provided on the frame, screw it on. Otherwise, you should add the strengthening element yourself..

Installing a protective shield

The screen is freed from the protective film and installed in the grooves on the pallet. Small brackets rest against the screen and screwed onto the pallet mortgages with two screws. Then the brackets are installed in the shape of the letter “L”. A nut is screwed onto the hairpin to such a height that the brackets worn from above rest against the bent part of the apron. Fix the brackets with nuts on both sides. Now the legs are wound on top of all the pins.

Siphon installation

A layer of sealant is applied to the outside of the rubber sealing ring and the part is inserted into the drain hole. A sealant is also applied to the gum and the pallet from above and below, after which the siphon is connected to a ring framing the drain hole, and the elements are bolted.

After assembling the siphon, the pallet is turned over to its normal position and set in level by twisting the legs.

Important! The required drainage angle is already provided by the inner shape of the pallet.

Features of installing a low pallet

Medium height pallets are usually frameless. They are installed on several legs. Some craftsmen twist the legs in pairs using a level when the pallet is in the upside-down position. Then it is turned over and without adjustment, set in the desired place.

Tightness test and connection to the sewer

Be sure to check the tightness of the drain. Two or three buckets of water are poured into the pallet and left for several hours. If the strength test is passed, the siphon is connected to the sewer using a corrugated pipe.

Installation of rear and side walls

A mixer, hydromassage and other elements that the design provides are installed on the central panel. Then it is installed in the corresponding groove on the pallet and fixed. Do the same with side panels. They are connected to each other through the corresponding mounting holes..

Assembling the frame and shower doors, hanging and adjusting

Together they connect the upper and lower guide arcs to the side profiles. If, in addition to the doors, there are fixed glasses in the frame, they are installed in place by putting a silicone seal on the edges.

Rollers are embroidered onto the glass of the doors and installed first in the upper and then in the lower guide profile. A magnetic or rubber seal is put on the joining edges of the doors. The complete frame is placed on a pallet. All joints are treated with sealant. Screws are screwed into the joints.

The upper rollers have an adjusting screw, with which they adjust the smoothness of opening and closing the door.

Roof assembly and installation

The roof configuration may include a rain shower, speaker, cooler, lamps, etc. Additional elements are installed in their places and screwed. It is recommended to use a screwdriver to avoid damaging the paint. The joints are treated with a thin layer of sealant. When all the elements are in place, the roof is put in place and secured.

The final stage

The fully assembled cab is connected to the sewerage and power supply, if required by the design. Check the performance of all functions, rigidity and tightness. Only then can the cab be moved close to the wall and fixed in a pre-selected place. The apron is removed and the gap between the pallet and the wall is filled with polyurethane foam.
