Installing a stretch ceiling will be a good solution during renovation, but it is difficult to find a contractor for a small area. You can install a stretch ceiling in the toilet with your own hands, having a small set of the necessary tools, and the canvas and consumables can be ordered from the manufacturer.

You will need materials:

• canvas (size depends on the area of ​​the ceiling);
• baguette (footage depends on the perimeter of the room);
• dowel-nails 6×40 mm;
• Super glue;
• thin plastic for mounting fixtures;
• lamps;
• thin plywood for lighting fixtures;
• suspensions (the number depends on the number of lamps);
• plinth.

Cloth, baguette and plinth order from the manufacturer, and mortgage and mounting rings can be made by hand.

In addition to materials for installation, tools are needed:

• puncher;
• screwdriver;
• jigsaw;
• a hammer;
• mounting or household, but sufficient power hairdryer;
• level, tape measure, pencil;
• thick spatula with rounded edges.

Ceiling preparation

Before installing the canvas, we prepare the work surface. Remove the remnants of the old coating, peeling paint or wallpaper, tiles.

Preparation of components before installing the blade

The canvas must be ordered in advance according to the size of the ceiling. The baguette and plinth are ordered along the length of the perimeter of the walls. When the canvas, baguette and plinth are on hand, you can begin installation. To nail a baguette into which the ceiling will be tucked, it is necessary to determine the height. It usually depends on the installation depth of the luminaires. In our case, the mounting depth of the fixtures is 5 cm. Draw a line, or make marks and proceed to the installation of the molding. We drill holes in the baguette itself at a distance of 10-15 cm from each other, then put the baguette to the marks on the wall, and use a puncher to make holes. We mount the baguette to the wall using dowel-nails, hammering them in with a hammer or screwing in with a screwdriver. The base for the stretch ceiling is ready.

Then we prepare the base for the lamps, which are called embedded. To do this, cut out plywood rings with a jigsaw..

The diameter of the ring should correspond to the size of the lamp so that it does not pass through it, but is held on the rim.

Fasten the mortgages to the ceiling using hangers so that the lower edge of the ring coincides in height with the installation height of the stretch ceiling. We part electrical wiring.

Installing a stretch ceiling

We begin to stretch the canvas, for this we carefully fill in the diagonally opposite corners with a thick spatula.

Before filling the canvas, we warm it up evenly so that it becomes elastic and does not break.

After filling all the corners, we begin to fill in the sides, for this we visually divide the large and then the smaller sides in half, and fill first the middle of the opposite sides, and then the remaining edges of the canvas, not forgetting to warm up with a hairdryer.

Installation of lamps

We cut out thermal rings from thin plastic, the diameter of the hole of which must match the diameter of the hole of the embedded, and the diameter of the ring must not exceed the diameter of the decorative rim of the lamp. We find in the canvas the places where the mortgages are installed, and using super-glue we fix the rings under the mortgages.

After waiting a few minutes, we cut out the canvas inside the rings, take out the wires, connect and install the lamps.
