The latter allow you to “play” with space, create a very interesting design on the floor thanks to the multi-format installation. Vertical laying of rectangular tiles will help to visually make a room or a kitchen apron higher, horizontal – on the contrary, “stretch” the wall in width.

Note that relatively small tiles are rarely used on the floor. Here, most often a tile with a minimum size of 30×30 centimeters is laid. There are, of course, owners who want an unusual floor with a pattern, in the form of a checkerboard, “carpet” with edging. But most often, small tiles are used in the following cases:

• For finishing a tiny bathroom;
• Small bathroom;
• On a kitchen apron;
• As an accent wall, everything is in the same bathroom, in the dining area, at the bottom of the walls of the hallway.

In addition, it is very convenient to trim door and window slopes, window sills, countertops with small tiles. So the scope is large enough.

The process of laying tiles up to 30 centimeters in size is simple, there are fewer difficulties than with mosaics and large tiles. It is important to choose the right grout for the joints and follow the technology of work. By the way, the surface under a relatively small tile should not be as ideal as for a large one – it better and more easily hides minor irregularities.
