How the vibrating table works

The principle of operation is extremely simple – vibrations are transmitted from the activator (vibration motor) to the plane – in this case, to the table top. Materials and tools

To create a structure, we need the following tools:

  • welding machine;
  • grinder with a disc for metal;
  • locksmith’s hand tools;

and materials:

  • corner 40x40x2 – 6 meters;
  • rectangular pipe 40×20 – 6 meters;
  • sheet of metal or laminated plywood 120x750x3 – 1 pc .;
  • springs (from the KamAZ timing belt), analog or rubber struts – 4 pcs.;
  • asynchronous motor 220 V / 1500 W – 1 pc .;
  • bolts / nuts, scrap material.

Making a fixed frame

The table frame or bed is the supporting part of the entire machine.   1. Cut the legs from the corner – 4 pcs. by 750 mm.
  2. We cut a stationary frame from a professional pipe 20×40 – 2 pcs. 600 mm each and 2 pcs. by 1 m.
  3. Weld the frame and weld the legs vertically at the corners.
  4. Weld springs on the upper plane of the corners.

Cover making

The table top will not be rigidly tied to the bed – it will simply rest on the springs. The sides of the “glasses” from the pipe will not let it come off during operation. Instead, you can use any analogues, for example, rubber parts of old factory machines. These elements are extremely “tenacious” and will last more than one year.

Working process:

  1. We cut the professional pipe – 2 pcs. 600 mm each and 2 pcs. by 1 m.
  2. We weld the frame in the same way as the stationary (mirror-like), but with two additional transverse ribs.
  3. On the ribs we arrange a platform for attaching a vibration motor with holes in place.
  4. At the corners of the movable frame of the cover we weld rings of a steel pipe O 50 mm and a height of 30 mm.
  5. We weld a sheet of metal onto the edges.

In our case, vibration activation will be performed from an electric motor. To make it appear, we will unbalance the motor shaft by adding an eccentric to it. The easiest and fastest way is to weld bolts Ø 12–14 mm onto the shaft and load them down with nuts. Loads should be positioned on both sides, parallel to each other – this is how the maximum vibration force is achieved.

The mass of the weights depends on the motor power, which in turn depends on the size of the table. These three indicators are interrelated and the mass of goods is a dependent parameter. Most often, such products are collected from improvised material, and there is not always a choice. Primitive calculation of motor power – 1500 W per 1 m2 table top area. The optimal weight of the weights is selected empirically – nuts are screwed onto the bolts. By sliding the nuts along the bolt thread, the vibration amplitude can be adjusted.

Assembling all parts together

Install the engine in the seats with the bolts. It is recommended to install an automatic machine for each power wire. Since the cover together with the motor has a significant weight, it is enough to simply install it with “glasses” on the springs.
