Tasty, juicy, healthy, sweet bell pepper is a bright vegetable, which many people like to include in their food, sometimes having no idea either about its properties or about the effect on health and the body as a whole. What is good for bell pepper
Sweet pepper belongs to Capsicum annuu, an annual herbaceous plant from the genus Capsicum of the Solanaceae family. The vegetable received such a name in Latin for its appearance (capsa translated from Latin – bag) and the characteristics of the growing period (annuum – one-year). America is considered to be the birthplace of Bulgarian sweet pepper, from where the plant later fell into European territory. However, in Russia the plant used to be called Bulgarian, and in Bulgaria – sweet.
The composition of sweet pepper includes trace elements such as potassium, magnesium, sodium, iodine, iron, zinc, calcium, phosphorus. It contains vitamins of groups B, A, E, K, P, C, fiber, phytosterols. The product has a characteristic taste due to the alkaloid capsaicin, which is present in all varieties of capsicum – a substance that has a detrimental effect on malignant cells. The bright color (yellow, green, red) is due to lycopene, another antioxidant contained in the vegetable.
Valuable substances are concentrated around the peduncle inside in white pulp and seeds (see photo). During heat treatment, they lose their quality, so it is recommended to use a fresh vegetable separately or add to vegetable salads. The beneficial properties of bell pepper are extensive and have a positive effect on health in many areas:

The last useful substances of the vegetable help to maintain a young appearance, and for pregnant women, the use of the plant is especially important: during this period, during the particular tension of the woman’s bone system, the product must be included in the daily diet to strengthen hair, nails and teeth.
The benefit of sweet pepper for youth is actively used in cosmetology: it is added to anti-aging masks to saturate the skin with vitamins. The plant increases appetite, but due to its low calorie content (25 kcal / 100 g) it is useful for those who want to lose weight, and eating pepper containing the hormone of joy, unlike chocolate, does not threaten weight gain.
This vegetable is special for men. The benefit of bell pepper for the strong half is the prevention and treatment of male potency. The plant accelerates metabolic processes, reduces pressure, the risk of obesity, leading to diabetes mellitus and insufficient production of the sex hormone testosterone. In addition, a delicious product strengthens blood vessels, eliminating their fragility, helps to lower cholesterol, resists circulatory failure, which provokes inferior erectile function.
It is valuable that, unlike hot peppers, which also have a positive effect on potency, this product can be eaten almost without restriction on its own and in vegetable dishes. A vegetable rich in vitamin C and lycopene provides the body with useful elements, strengthening immunity, preventing the onset of prostate cancer. The potassium content has a good effect on mental performance, male physical activity, while providing an anti-stress effect. The product is also useful for men at the initial stage of hair loss, baldness, stimulating hair growth and the work of bulbs.

However, for some diseases it is necessary to limit the use of the plant or even completely exclude it from the diet, therefore, before using a Bulgarian sweet vegetable, it is better to consult a doctor. Limitations are associated with the fact that peppers contain a lot of coarse fiber, a large amount of essential oils, due to which the vegetable can cause exacerbation of a number of diseases.
