Sinuloks / Synulox is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that can cure most bacterial infections. Sinulox is intended for cats and dogs, it relieves inflammation, has a bactericidal effect due to the main component of amoxicillin, the second component clavulanic acid inhibits the activity of bacteria, increases their sensitivity to penicillin.
The drug is very effective against many pathogens of infectious diseases in small pets, for example, in the treatment of pathologies of the upper respiratory tract, purulent inflammation of the soft tissues, diseases of the joints, genitals. Veterinarians often prescribe this medication, but not all pet owners are aware of the intricacies of its use..
The composition of the drug Synulox (for example, tablet form) includes the following active substances:
silicon colloidal anhydrous
sodium glycolate (type A)
The drug is available in two forms: tablets in blisters and a suspension for intramuscular, subcutaneous injections. One blister contains 10 tablets with a dosage of 50 or 250 grams. They have a pink tint, dividing groove. Injections are used less often since the shelf life of the printed suspension is not more than a month. Liquid cream shade, oily texture, bubbles of 40 and 100 milliliters each.
This antibiotic belongs to the penicillin group. The combination of two active components – amoxicillin and clavulanic acid – has an antibacterial effect against most bacteria, including strains producing beta-lactamase:
Gram-positive bacteria (Gram (+))
Gram-negative bacteria (Gram (-))
The drug is active against bacteria that produce beta-lactamase – this is a special enzyme that destroys antibiotic molecules until its exposure. Clavulanic acid, which is part of the medication, protects the main active substance amoxicillin from the action of beta-lactamase by inactivation (destruction of active structures), contributes to the speedy bactericidal effect.
Indications for use
The drug Synulox is prescribed for the treatment of the following infectious diseases in cats and dogs (bacterial etiology):
- skin diseases (deep, superficial pyoderma including);
- infections of the genitourinary system (cystitis, diseases aggravated by the addition of a secondary infection);

If the veterinarian diagnosed, prescribed the drug without explaining the method of use and other useful information, then you must carefully read the instructions that come with the medicine so as not to harm the health of the pet. Often, the dose of the active substance depends on the breed of the cat: the larger the animal, the more dosage will be needed to treat infectious diseases.
The tablet formulation is available in three concentrations: Sinulox tablets 50 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg. The medicine is prescribed inside. Round tablets are given to the animal by hand or used as an additive to the main meals, crushed or mixed with the usual food for the pet. The method of feeding tablets does not affect the bioavailability of the components (absorption of active substances).
A single dose – 12.5 mg per 1 kg of the current weight of the animal, no more than two times a day. If the disease is difficult to treat, then it is necessary to increase the dosage of the drug to 25 mg per 1 kg of the current weight of the pet, also no more than twice a day. The duration or course of treatment of an animal with Sinulox is from 5 days to a week, depending on the degree of complexity of the disease. With intractable infections or chronic diseases, treatment can last 10-28 days.
The medicine is available in the form of a suspension in 100 ml vials (packaging of 6 vials) and 40 ml (packaging of 12 vials). The dosage of the drug Sinulox for injection according to the active substance is 8.75 mg of amoxicillin per 1 kg of live weight, which corresponds to 1 ml of suspension per 20 kg of weight. The solution is administered subcutaneously, otherwise the drug is administered intramuscularly. It is forbidden to enter intravenously. Sinulox preparation for cats injections is injected once a day for 3-5 days. Before the introduction, you need to shake the bottle, after – massage the injection site.
