State-of-the-art Onyx House by Arch-D –a chic country residence in the woods

Exceptional location of the residence Onyx House Tallinn, Estonia, The design of the Onyx House already makes use of the existing woodland and the surrounding terrain. Project Arch-D was completed in 2012.

The residence is partially situated on the grounds of an old building with park trees. So the first floor is open to nature and at the same time formatted as “cocoon”, That is, there will be an environment that offers maximum security.

Color scheme, lighting and texture Decorative materials imitate the natural surroundings, harmonizing with the ecology, so if the house did not exist. Evening light reflects off the trunks of the trees; the texture of the front wall reproduces the tree bark. A fireplace surround appears at the base of a rough surface as an abstraction of a natural hearth.
