The modern country house is an interesting architectural improvisation

The modern country house is an innovative architectural style, combining the classical elements of a traditional rural home with contemporary design elements. This creates a unique aesthetic, which is comfortable and inviting to residents, while also exuding elegance through innovative touches. This style offers many advantages, such as increased energy efficiency and comfort, as well as lower long-term maintenance costs. The modern country house is an ideal way to enjoy the countryside in a stylish and distinctive way.

Today we will talk about the architectural company Mechelen-based, which has designed a structure in Brecht (Belgium) on the project VB4, which is a kind of small copy of an existing house. The craftsmen were commissioned to design it in the form of an A-frame, to recreate in it a festive mood and coziness.

This structure is located in a former recreation area, but still have to comply with the relevant building codes. The designers had a hard time coming up with a design to get a pyramid shape on trapezoidal wooden structures. Thanks to high quality materials and ultramodern technology, however, they were able to connect the library room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and hallway with each other.

The front and back sides of the building are fully glazed, which allows you to enjoy the beautiful view of the garden and pond. The concept of the building is based on the “dialogue” between old and new trends, privacy and openness, glass and wood. And yet these totally different parts are connected by a common idea – creating a comfortable place for unrivaled recreation for the whole family.

Some specific architectural features that distinguish modern country houses from traditional country houses include:

      1. Open floor plans: Modern country houses often feature open layouts that create a sense of spaciousness and flow between rooms, in contrast to the more divided and compartmentalized rooms of traditional country houses.

      2. Large windows: Modern country houses typically incorporate large windows that allow for natural light to flood the interior spaces, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. In comparison, traditional country houses may have smaller, more divided windows.

      3. Minimalist design: Modern country houses often embrace minimalist design principles, with clean lines, simple forms, and a focus on functionality. This is a stark contrast to the more ornate and decorative features found in traditional country houses.

      4. Sustainable materials and technologies: Modern country houses frequently utilize eco-friendly materials and technologies, such as energy-efficient windows, solar panels, and recycled materials, to reduce their environmental impact and increase energy efficiency.

Overall, modern country houses prioritize simplicity, functionality, and sustainability, while traditional country houses lean towards more ornate, compartmentalized, and less environmentally-conscious design elements.
