Currimundi Interior

The perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life, enjoy carefree beachfront living. The 630 sq. ft. m, the building is 335 sq. . The designers had several tasks: to renovate the property, restore the house, redecorate the interior, etc.

“Currimundi” is listed as a historic landmark in the area, so the architect carefully measured each room to maintain their size, scale and quantity. See how the home now blends well into the landscape with seaside huts and sand dunes! Lake Currimundi (rough) was part of the sea, beautiful and deep. Today, a forced water exchange is set up here. It’s shallower now, but you can still fish, boat and surf.

Properties in the area have been handed down by families from generation to generation, so the owners have sought to maintain the modest proportions of the dwelling without changing the materials used to build it. The designers listened to their advice on the design of the residence.

The renovation process was driven by the surrounding landscape: the site was cleared of the strip of tropical trees that blocked views of the beach. This nuance was taken into account in the design of the building. The transition from the suburban street to the middle of the courtyard was magical. Grape leaves cover the winding pathway to the front door. The façade is entirely concealed from the street with perforated wood panelling, which ensures the privacy of its owners.

As you move from the main entrance into the interior of the house, the furnishings become less formal, more like outdoor terraces on the beach. Inside, the space is striking in scale and detail design. Wood panelling in seven different tones creates a feeling of natural aging. Glass walls create a feeling of unity with nature. They allow the sunlight to shine in. The two-level structure features a first floor garage, gazebo, kitchen, living room. The modestly sized bedrooms are located on the second, their finishes refined and elaborate. Residents aren’t likely to spend much time indoors when the sky and sand beckon so! The use of simple decorative elements does not make this project any less affordable. All the upgrades cost the owners in 1 million. 200,000. Dollars!
