Design inspired by nature – a modern house inside a mountain

This modern house inside a mountain incorporates design features inspired by nature. It features a large, open-plan living room at the center of the house, surrounded by several smaller rooms with a view of the mountain. A unique aspect of the design is the use of naturally occurring stone, of both light and dark tones, to create an eye-catching contrast. Patios, balconies, and terraces provide outdoor living space and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, while the house's location inside the mountain ensures temperature and acoustic insulation. This combination of natural and modern elements creates an incredible living experience with a unique charm all of its own.

According to the team of architects, the challenge was to design a structure that would be able to accommodate up to 18 people in a 500 square meter area without compromising the comfort and privacy of each. The house is supposed to be used as a temporary (seasonal, vacation) home for its owners.

The designers of the project admit that the main challenge was to adapt the house to the natural slope, which varies from 40 to 70 degrees. But they have coped with their task brilliantly, creating a unique multi-level construction.

This modern house designed inside a mountain is inspired by nature in several ways. Firstly, the architecture incorporates large windows that provide panoramic views of the natural surroundings, allowing residents to feel connected to the environment. Secondly, natural materials such as wood and stone are used in the interior and exterior design, creating a seamless integration between the house and its surroundings. This enhances the overall aesthetics, giving it a warm and organic feel.
