The smartest countries in the world
From a wheel and a steam engine to nuclear synthesis and gene editing – a person is extremely smart, a savvy specialist and a lot of inventions. But have you ever wondered how to identify the most intelligent countries in the world, what is the difference in intelligence between Americans and Europeans, and who is preparing future Nobel laureates?
Using the Vouchercloud portal, we decided to answer this question based on three indicators:
- The number of Nobel Prizes won (historical intelligence score).
- Average current IQ (assessment of current intelligence).
- The quality of school education (assessment of future intelligence).
The historical heritage provides high positions to the western states. The United States and Britain have the most Nobel laureates – 368 and 132, respectively. But the average result for two other parameters sent them to 4th and 8th places according to the general assessment.
History, on the contrary, prevents Asian countries from climbing to the top, but they are clear leaders of the present and the near future. In the IQ ranking, the first 6 places are occupied by Singapore, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. In terms of school performance, they are all in the top 7 (Russia ranks 6th).
