Colored cable is rarely sold by the meter, it is easier to find a short extension cord of a suitable color.

Instruments:

  • drill, drill;
  • pliers;
  • screwdrivers;
  • file;
  • scissors for metal;
  • hacksaw;
  • tape measure, square;
  • hammer, core;
  • knife.

Lamp manufacturing procedure

Carefully cut off the sides of the retainers using short-bladed scissors.

Mark and cut out two rectangles from plywood with short sides 100 mm and long ones 1 mm less than the size taken from the panel.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Determine the center of the blanks.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Drill holes as large as two wire diameters.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Twist the ring with pliers.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Insert the wire into the hole and wrap tightly around the workpiece.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Bite off the excess ends and twist.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Prepare the second piece, trying to match the size of the ring.

Mark the drilling locations:

  1. Measure Panel Length (S).
  2. Calculate the interval between lamps: H = S / (L + 1), where L is the number of lamps.
  3. Determine and record the distance from the end of the panel to each hole. For example, the first after 156 mm, the second after 312 mm (156 + 156), etc..
  4. Draw marks with a pencil, measuring the distance from the edge with a tape measure, and the middle of the panel with a square.

Place a board underneath and mark the drilling points with a core.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Drill the holes by matching the drill to the cable diameter.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

File away internal notches, insert plywood into grooves.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Place the pieces between the two outermost holes.

Separate the sheath by freeing 30-40 mm of wire.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Strip the insulation 8-10 mm.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Insert the wires into the spring clips of the electric carriage, connecting the center contact (phase) to the darker wire. Tuck the halves of the cable jacket into the housing.

Slide the cable through the hole and grab it with a clamp without tightening it all the way.

Decide on the level of suspension of the bulbs. You may want to position them at different heights or lower the panel with a wire.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Place the lamp on the supports.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Fix the cables in the holders one by one, cutting off the length taking into account the height of the suspension and connecting in bundles of 3-4 conductors. Place components in place.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Assemble a parallel circuit for connecting light bulbs, install clamps at the output for easy connection. Insulate the contacts with tape.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Turn off the electricity, hang the panel and reconnect the power.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Test the lamp in action and leave it for a day. Take a closer look, maybe there will be a need for any changes.

Tighten the clamps and add additional ties as required. Cut off the protruding ends.

DIY ceiling lamp with LED lamps

Align the panel with the ceiling using magnets that you can take from old cabinets.
