How many sockets do we need?

Numerous tees, wires hanging from the walls, carriers hidden under the carpet – this is the result of the wrong layout of the outlet. Modern people need a lot of sockets, because the number of electrical appliances in ordinary houses and apartments continues to grow. And all electrical devices literally “eat” electricity! We will study each room in terms of the required number of outlets.

Bathroom

This room should have at least two sockets – for him and for her. One for an electric shaver, the other for a hairdryer, iron or hair curling iron. It is advisable to place these sockets near the mirror, on the sides. However, a washing machine is often located in the bathroom – it needs its own separate outlet at the installation site, usually hidden from view.

Shower, Jacuzzi and fan may require separate outlets. It is very important for the bathroom to choose sockets designed specifically for humid rooms with a degree of protection of at least IPX4 (for areas in the immediate vicinity of a bath or shower – at least IPX7).

Kitchen

That’s where the mass of electrical appliances is! A separate outlet should be allocated to the refrigerator. Another, powerful, special, with a separate wiring line, will be required for an electric stove and an electric oven. If you have a gas hob with automatic electric ignition – here’s another outlet for you. At least three sockets should be provided on the kitchen apron – for an electric kettle and small household appliances.

It is clear that usually you will not use all of these electrical appliances at the same time. If a TV is installed in the kitchen, then a 220 V socket will be required at the place of its installation, as well as antenna leads, and it may be worth providing an RJ45 output. An additional socket is required at the place where the microwave oven is installed. Three more sockets – for a dishwasher, a waste disposer (if planned) and a hood. The latter is best done higher. And one or two sockets in the dining area for the need to connect a phone or laptop.

Bedroom

Here the activity of electrical appliances is less. We need two sockets on the sides of the bed – for lamps and charging gadgets. But, if there is a dressing table in the bedroom, in front of which the hostess of the house brings beauty, you need another outlet near it. If it is in the bedroom that you iron the laundry, you will need a separate socket for the iron. And the presence of a home office in this room is a separate topic, because there should be at least two sockets near the workplace, and if there is a printer, three. Children

As a matter of fact, this is the same bedroom, only for the younger members of the family. At the first stage, the baby only needs one outlet to turn on the night light. In these walk-through rooms, sockets are not needed. They will mainly be used for electric shoe dryers, so two will suffice, preferably closer to the floor.
