When choosing, we always focus on the best – especially when it comes to the safety of our loved ones and ourselves. But, choosing the best, you always have to change something, give up something, trying to strengthen your security – new doors, new locks, new security systems – after all, the world of technology does not stand still. There are many different door lock models emerging, each with its own burglary protection technology. However, in pursuit of new products, we get a lot of inconveniences, from the laborious process of replacing parts, ending with the removal of the entire door. In other words, the problem lies not so much in the lack of reliable protection systems, but in the complexity of improving existing models in accordance with innovations that appear on the market. Can a lock be improved without changing the door? Some manufacturers guarantee that to enhance the security provided by the lock, you do not have to destroy the old and create a new one “from scratch” – you can improve it step by step, adding parts that increase reliability to existing devices.
What are these steps?
1 step – lever lock.
This is an ordinary lock that most owners install on their front doors. As a rule, lever keys have a constant fixed distance between the teeth, which makes it easier to open the lock and make a copy of the key. However, in the currently improved lever system, this distance changes, which increases the number of possible key combinations from several thousand to more than two hundred million – of course, it is much more difficult to decipher the mechanism of such a lock..
Step 2 – cylinder lock.
It is recommended to install it in addition to the lever lock – two locks of different operating principles significantly increase reliability.
Step 3 – lever cylinder.
The system combines the advantages of two types of locks – cylinder and lever, but only one key is used. You do not change the lock, but supplement it with new devices that increase the reliability of the existing lock at minimal cost.
4 step – steel plate for fastening the lock with protection against drilling.
The plate with manganese insert is an effective protection of the locks from drilling. It is mounted between the door and the lock and protects the entire closing system.
5 step – armored pad for the lever cylinder with protection against drilling and burglary.
This element is another step in enhancing the protection of the lever lock. We have already strengthened it with a lever cylinder, but now, for its greater mechanical strength, a special “armor” is “put on” on it, which does not even give a burglar the opportunity to get close to the lock.
Step 6 – additional armor plate for the cylinder.
Thanks to an additional pad, the second cylinder lock does not remain without strengthening, providing multi-stage protection for all locking systems installed in the door.
The force of action is always equal to the force of counteraction, respectively, the more complex the new defense devices, the more cunning the strategies for breaking them will be. And the main thing here is the ability to dynamically develop, improve existing technologies without wasting time and additional funds. Being one step ahead all the time, you get a guarantee of safety and peace of mind. Everyone knows the comparison of a house with a fortress, long noticed by the British. It makes no sense to destroy the fortress, rebuilding it every time. It is enough only to systematically and competently strengthen it.
