Today we offer you to visit a picturesque place in Finland where a cozy wooden house surrounded by forest and rocks. Design and architecture The house belongs to the recognized experts in their field – Casagrande Laboratory, who have created a multifunctional space for comfortable and cozy living of modern man.
This small town is located in a secluded area, the population are mainly natives, this factor contributed to the fact that the construction and design used traditional techniques, which are more familiar to the Finnish population.
The façade is made entirely of wood and later painted a dazzling white. The windows and doors, in various shapes, stand out in the immaculate background and offer a great view of the surrounding landscape, making it part of the indoor world. A particularly beautiful view opens up in a snowy season, when the exterior of the house is completely merged into one and only the outline of the house is slightly visible.
Unconventional glazed openings somewhat reminiscent of the portholes on a luxury cruise liner. Rounded configurations are eye-catching from the outside as well as inside the cottage. Given the climatic conditions, the windows were intentionally chosen small, so as to let in more light, but not to release heat into the cold winter outside. The project also used analogues of the ceiling glazing creating a brightened corridor in the hallway and close lying area.
Light, airy and energetic, the interior looks very unusual. The setting is simple, but its appeal and charm do the trick. Dazzling colors, organic materials and practical solutions for everyday life.
Only local wood has been used for the walls and the floor, and only in the living room with fireplace boldly stands out a clear contrast of deep black. This inset clearly defines the boundaries of the hearth and passes smoothly under the window, where it merges with the furniture.
The owners like to spend time reading, so they needed a small library. Modular shelves stacked with boards and metal tubing made an ideal place for storing literature and decorated the room with their colorful look.
To form a bright and luminous picture, they installed a panoramic window that opens directly onto the veranda. It will fill every inch of space with natural light and help the occupants to save energy.
This area houses an elegant kitchen that is stylish and modern with state-of-the-art appliances, and the dining room, which can probably be considered the most popular area as you can see the surroundings through the large window.
Next we move on to cozy bedroom, where there is nothing unnecessary to get in the way of proper relaxation and privacy. Modular storage systems, a bed, a fireplace that heats the area and a long table that parallels the length of the room. Neutral coloring allows you to feel in a calm and tranquil environment.
The modern house is located in an environmentally friendly environment, which was the main motive to create a similar facade and interior, which will blend seamlessly with the terrain and exude simplicity, functionality.
