Salmela-Architectās approach to designing an orphanage in a virgin forest is a captivating blend of sustainability and creativity. They have seamlessly integrated the environmental considerations into their design by using locally sourced materials, implementing energy-efficient systems, and creating spaces that harmonize with the natural surroundings. The location in Michiganās virgin forest adds an extra layer of complexity to the design concept, as the architects have had to carefully navigate the delicate balance between preservation and development. Iām eager to see how their design responds to the unique challenges and opportunities presented by this stunning setting.
