Introducing the readers of Forum City a Mexican house with an elegant interior, designed by López Duplan Arquitectos. Carefully selected decorative accessories create an aura of sophistication.
The building has three and a half levels. The number of windows in the intermediate floor increased and the proportions changed at the same time. This arrangement improved the penetration of natural light. Expanded window apertures open a landscape with a view of the forest. Canopy terraces and outdoor areas were also completely redone.
The interiors reflect the residents’ characters, hobbies and preferences. Featuring shelving and bookshelves, pictures on the walls, and plants in tubs. Local color is evident in the ethnic details – colorful rugs with distinctive ornaments, charming knickknacks, and a variety of other treasures. The interior combines hardwood floors and marble cladding. Granite in the same shades was used to finish the kitchen. Zoning is accomplished with catwalks. On a multilevel ceiling – an intricate lighting system alters and complicates the geometry of the space.
The central axis of the home is the staircase, which connects the common area with the private. All the walls around it were removed to integrate the space. Living rooms are on the upper floors. They are characterized by large windows with a wide view. One of the bedrooms has a window framing a bookcase, which adds a cozy touch. In the sanitary bathtub area, an elegant tub sits against the backdrop of a huge full-wall window for a view.
The renovation also touched the exterior of the building. In addition to the structural changes to the facades, a new entrance area has been designed. The garden surrounding the house has also been transformed, with the large tree left untouched.
