The CH House by Domb Architects in Tel Aviv, Israel is a spectacular puzzle house comprised of separate structures linked together. Its unique design consists of a variety of shapes, angles, and sizes, blended together in an organic fashion to create a stunningly modernistic ensemble. Its exterior features a neutral palette of concrete, wood, and glass creating an intriguing play of light and shadows, while its interior is filled with an array of rooms, making it a comfortable and modern living space. The design of the CH House also takes into account its environment, fitting the structure into the hillside it is built on, blending with its natural surroundings. Its design is also energy-efficient, with a combination of photovoltaic cells and a heat pump reducing its environmental impact. With its sculptural facade, cozy interior, and environmental sensibilities, the CH House is a fascinating work of art and a unique way of living.
The living room of the house also has a similar focus. Completely white walls, a minimum of stylish, comfortable furniture and cubic shape – a very bold design decision. The white square columns on the first floor are interesting as well as the view from the huge sliding windows.
Note an interesting detail: the ceiling above the living room is not solid, but has beams-beams on the upper perimeter and a glass block between them.
The basic concept of the interior: a minimum of objects and details, maximum functionality and comfort. The whole house has a very textured texture on the inside, the designers were clearly inspired by basic geometric shapes – square, rectangle and cylinder.
