Original architecture in a modern processing, Haus von Arx, Haberstroh Schneider, Binningen, Switzerland
The Haus von Arx in Binningen, Switzerland is an architectural masterpiece of the last two decades. This modern building combines original and contemporary architecture, designed by renowned architecture firms Haberstroh Schneider. Characteristic features of this construction include a split-level design, natural sandstone cladding contrasted by pure white walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. Multiple sustainable features make the building both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Additionally, it won the Swiss Real Estate Award for Architecture in 2018. Haus von Arx is a prime example of how original, energy-friendly architecture can work in harmony with modern processing.
When interior designers receive orders from their clients, more often than not they have the goal of reorganizing the building, as well as increasing the space. Today at Forum City weโre going to talk about a project in which the task was quite different.
Readers of Forum City will be surprised, but this house was built back in 1951. Over the past couple of years, it has been expanded, altered, renovated and transformed several times. Ended up looking like totally separate rooms and styles.
During the renovation, the designers decided to remove the winter garden on the southwest side of the site. In its place, the craftsmen built a large outdoor garden pavilion, which serves as a connecting element between the old building, the pool and the garden.
