The designers themselves said they were fulfilling a task given to them by the owners of a vast private plot, the size of which made it possible to erect a half-transparent two-storey structure without fear of uninvited guests, such as owners of neighboring houses, peeping into it. Stunning landscapes inspired a unique building that seems to have many steps cascading down to the river.
The east and west facades of the mansion are fully clad with glass panels replacing doors and windows to maximize the feeling of closeness to nature and the constant view of its beauty.
In contrast, there are solid walls on the south and north that do not even have small windows. Such a solution, according to the architects, creates a feeling of total solitude and isolation of the residence from the rest of the civilized world.
Contrary to common practice, the rooms for private use in this project are placed on the first floor. By the way, even the bedrooms here have floor-to-ceiling glazing, not interfering with the enjoyment of communicating with the outside world.
The second floor was completely devoted to living and dining together in a minimalist style which is very popular nowadays.
In essence, the mansion is two separate structures, one of which is residential and the other is equipped as a modern garage. The connection is a kind of tunnel that hangs above the ground, creating a sense of lightness and underlining that they wanted to do as little harm as possible to the natural environment. By the way, this crossing, penetrating into the living area, becomes part of the huge fireplace, occupying a large part of the first floor.
