Remarkable design project of a private home with a modernist interior

This remarkable design project displays a modernist interior for a private home, highlighting an admirable attention to detail. The result is an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, using natural materials, natural lighting, and a sleek color palette. The project also presents functionality and efficiency with plenty of storage spaces. The interior contains cozy elements such as a wood-burning stove and warm textiles. Ultimately, this design project combines comfort, beauty, and practicality- ideal for any homeowner.

Gover Lane is a unique design project, which was developed and implemented by the talented masters of the architectural studio Rossington Architecture in 2012. It is located in a cozy and charming city San Carlos California, U.S.A.

The main goals of this project were to organize a more functional kitchen area and an outdoor terrace in the backyard, creating a light and casual interior design for living. Other components of the decorating project include the implementation of a friendlier and more welcoming guest greeting area, an efficient heating system, a new functional powder room, laundry room, and a comprehensive upgrade of the entire house. The owners wanted a modern, but not too flashy and innovative apartment. The trick to redesigning was to design the structure with clean lines and an actual sense of reality, but without overstepping acceptable boundaries.

The decor project added several square meters to the living and dining room, and required the removal of interior walls in the public area of the apartment to create a modern, open and comfortable living space that showcases a great kitchen area and incredible culinary talents in front of guests.

Opening transoms of the windows act as a chimney, expelling warm air upwards from the house on hot days. A ceiling window with a large beveled shaft provides a similar effect in the kitchen area and balances out the natural light in the room.

An open-plan living room with kitchen and dining area creates a spacious, gracious space that is perfect for dining and entertaining as a family. The light shade scheme is complemented by the soft textured woods, and a contrasting accent is given by the dark gray floor surface. The dining area is highlighted by a round volumetric lamp that fills the space with a warm glow, and the recreation area – small ceiling lamps.

The three-meter high ceilings were removed and a new roof overhang was installed, giving the living room a distinctive landscape view of the backyard. Sliding glass doors Fleetwood with a width of five meters, and a transom canopy connects the space with green spaces and garden area, where decking and painted steel and wood trellises create a comfortable outdoor atmosphere.
