The admirers of Forum City have a chance to see how the desire to be in harmony with nature manifested itself with the masters of design Slee& Co Architects in Johannesburg, South Africa.
They designed and realized a building in a rocky area not far from an industrial metropolis. The new building was transformed from an old building surrounded by decades-old landscaping. So it was decided to blend seamlessly into this framework without disturbing the balance of the biological environment. Even the entrance gate to the garage is only slightly larger than the height of the car for balance.
Nothing was cut down and not a single block was displaced. Here, for example, is a young tree left next to a pond next to a rock outcropping. The feeling was reciprocated and the residents who spend their hot days on the outdoor terrace are given shade and the gentle rustle of the leaves. Trees in landscape design irreplaceable.
Inside the home, the ascetic interior finishes in the interior passageways are in keeping with the design of the living spaces. No luxuries and frills. It’s the home of creative people.
