This magnificent residence, located in GeorgianBay, Ontario, has been renovated by Altius Architecture of Canada.
The newly renovated rooms took on a spectacular fashionable look. Excellent arrangement of light in the kitchen creates a light, airy atmosphere. Sunlight from wide windows reflects in marble table tops.
The designers highlighted several phases of their work:
“Built in the 1970s, this building needed an extensive restoration. The semi-circular floor plan measures 280 square metres. Even its location on a bare granite slope gave it a special twist. The views here are gorgeous toward beautiful Georgian Bay.
Sliding glass windows are located all along the south side façade. There is a reading corner in this area. A transparent three-sided fireplace separates it from the living room which is the focal point of the first floor.
Configurations of most rooms were left untouched during the renovation. Replaced the covers on their interior spaces. The previously closed kitchen area was converted into a modern open area. It includes a breakfast bar that freely transitions into the dining room. There’s also a built-in pantry.
The outdated fireplace mantle was removed. It was replaced by a superb piece of fireproof glass, integrated into a shelving unit with backlighting. Its presence provides warmth to all parts of the main living rooms. The bedroom and bath are nestled at the end of the wing, where no one will disturb. Clean white walls combined with mirrored openings give a new accent to the furniture and modern light fixtures”.
