The spirit of classicism gives the room a Steinway piano& Sons and impressionist paintings that Marian bought at the antique store. The tall windows are closed with heavy beige curtains.
After: Gray walls of cabinetry match the marble niches. Glass doors with metal borders make all cookware and utensils visible at all times.
The dining table has kept its original marble finish from the 18th century. Marian installed a glazed sideboard in the dining room for glasses and goblets. On the left is the wine fridge and on the right, the coffee machine. The color of the walls and curtains perfectly complements the natural wood table.
In the center of the room is an 18th-century garden statue Marian bought in New Orleans.
French loggia doors lead to an open-air dining area where the owners often host parties.
Marian filled the lush garden with ferns, palms, camellias and other exotic plants.
A small comfortable room near the hall serves as an office for two people. A small Chagall canvas became the color palette for the room. The walls are dark purple and the ceiling is a shade lighter, so the room doesn’t look too gloomy. A polished white stone fireplace was installed for the same purpose.
Marian likes to arrange the interior around paintings. The first floor room is an example of design dictated by a work of art. The palette consists of three colors – gray, white and black, and the dynamics of the canvas are conveyed by the marble floor.
Opposite the bedroom is a small room with a garden view.
Behind the French doors is a balcony and a small sitting area.
The shower in the bathroom is attached to the wall, and a V-shaped drain is made in the floor. The room is easy to move around, making it not only attractive to look at, but also comfortable.
A glass-walled elevator operates in the back of the house: the view of the garden and the river is unforgettable from above.
A small open hallway connects the sitting area with the bathroom.
After: Marian and Bruce bought an area behind the house with a delightful garden, which can be viewed from the second-floor balcony.
Glass walls make the back of the house seem much more modern.
A neat step pathway leads downstairs.
Bruce and Marian like to walk near the balustrade of their transformed home. Real corner of paradise!
