During the Cold War, the U.S. prepared many bunkers capable of withstanding a nuclear strike. Cheyenne Mountain is one of the most rugged. It is a complex of 15 three-storey underground buildings. Structures able to withstand electromagnetic pulses, earthquakes and 30-megaton explosions.
