Welcome to Villa Escarpa. This incredible structure is nestled amongst the green hills near the village of Praia da Luz, in the southern Portuguese region of Lagos.
At the beginning of this work the architect had some problems. First: The new house has to fit in the space occupied by the old one. Second, the steep slope on which it stands is often exposed to the winds. Surprisingly, it is these constraints and difficulties that formed the basis of the concept and helped create a unique project.
The old structure was of little note, but was in an exceptional location with views of the Algarve coast and the village.
The modern architectural language is reflected in the clean horizontal lines of the covered terraces and courtyards. This white wonder floating on top of the landscape. The challenge was to maintain the stability of such a construction, while preserving the apparent lightness of the. In doing so, the architect has tried to minimize the impact on the environment.
A long water surface seems to cut through the living room and kitchen space, connecting with the house.
Four bedrooms are located in an enclosed area. They can be accessed from a corridor that runs along the patio in the center of the building. Here, natural light is dimmed by filters to create intimacy and comfort.
Other great features of the terraces are that they are sheltered from the wind, but open to the sun and at night they offer a stunning view of the starry sky.
In the lower part there are garages and technical rooms.

This project seems truly amazing! Iโm curious to know if the house design incorporates any specific features to blend harmoniously with the stunning natural surroundings. Additionally, is the pool seamlessly integrated into the overall aesthetic of the property, enhancing its delightful ambiance?
