Interior design studio Artistic Designs for Living was commissioned to remodel an old cottage in Mill Valley, Marin County, California, to give the space a more modern and spacious look.

Against the background of white walls, which seem to flow, islands of furniture in brown shades look great. Small but very comfortable living room not only accommodates the whole family, but will also find room for visiting friends.

The dining area is located near the two windows, between which sits a large painting. The image of the ocean surface draws you in, beckons, and turns your head, making you feel as if you’re sailing this very minute on a ship across an endless expanse of sea. Supporting this theme, arranged and the dining room, which is a simple wooden table with a bench, in addition to it are also used usual modern chairs. Round fixtures fit into both the nautical theme and the country style, in which the whole house is decorated.

Of course, today’s houses have an excellent heating system, and to be heated by a stove is no longer necessary, but in the soul of each lights a spark of grace at the sight of a living fire. Therefore, it is not surprising that in our time homes are increasingly equipped with fireplaces. This is not just a tribute to fashion. It’s a piece of our past that lulls anxious nerves, lifts our spirits. Brown-tone natural stone is used in the finish, and a glass door is installed for security.

The authors of the project made a dream come true for many of our women – a separate room for belongings. Dresser – the smartest way to put clothes, accessories and bedding. The open shelves conveniently hold towels and hats, but for suits and dresses you need special furniture.

The mistress of the house is fond of painting. Her art studio designers have not changed much, just painted in white, as in the whole house. A custom artist’s table is the epitome of rustic simplicity. At the same time it is very functional. The small white chest of drawers with drawers is ideal for paints and brushes.
