It's difficult to surprise people today with the shape of the building, and yet visitors have the opportunity to do so, thanks to H Arquitectes. This bespoke company built a house in Barcelona for a large family, which was designed to unite the house and garden as much as possible without the use of glass facades.
The task was solved very unconventional – on the site erected three separate buildings, connected by lightweight transitions. The composition is so oriented that most of the garden is in front of the structures. The interior layout is shaped so that the sun from the south side shines through almost all the main rooms. The large windows allow the occupants to enjoy the warmth of the house every day, while contemplating the manicured terrace.
The first unit is entirely devoted to the children's bedrooms and playroom and is smaller than the others, so it has an amazingly practical interior. Then comes the central block with the kitchen and living room. The whole family can gather here at any time. And the third part is reserved for a bedroom and sitting area for the parents.
Two roofed corridors, which can be fully opened or closed with glass doors, are a wonderful symbiosis between the living room and the open courtyard. A wide garage is attached to the north side of the "adult" corner. The entire landscape design is surprisingly well thought out and literally made for a happy life for people who love nature and strive to live in harmony with it.
