Beige and blue VD House – a classic interpretation by Studio Guilherme Torres, Curitiba, Brazil
Studio Guilherme Torres from Curitiba, Brazil brings an innovative, classic interpretation to single storeyed dwellings with the Beige and Blue VD House. Located at the top of a hill, the house takes advantage of its location to provide residents with a gorgeous view from larger-than-normal windows and balconies. The ever-popular minimalist style takes precedence throughout the interior, from white walls to the stone-clad fireplace, and a stunning, turquoise-tiled pool accents the texture of the house. Multiple terraces and aqua-coloured accents provide a soothing haptic contrast, ensuring a pleasant and pleasurable stay for all.
A solid volume of stone creates a beautiful niche for the fireplace and serves as a decoration for the living room, forming a cabinet for the dining table. It is very harmonious with the other architectural features of the project. A small amount of furniture, mainly designed by the architect himself, underlines the youthful calm and laconic Brazilian style but with international overtones.

This design by Studio Guilherme Torres is undeniably captivating! I’m curious to know what inspired their choice of beige and blue for the VD House in Curitiba, Brazil. Are these colors a nod to traditional Brazilian architecture or do they hold a special significance in the project?
