As we can see, the architects were tasked with building a small, modern home for one small family. The building is very small and has one level. The roof is the simplest, flat, which allows you to use it as a terrace in warm weather. The house is surrounded by a low fence that only emphasizes the miniaturization of the building. The front is finished in black, which is a bold and unconventional design move. The house is built in L-shape and the inside of the house has an exit from the terrace of the same shape on the green lawn.
The walls on the inner perimeter of the house are sliding glass, which is a popular design today.
The terrace of the house is finished with natural wood which makes it warm and ecological. The compact garden by the fence is a reminder that even a small area can be made harmonious and lively. On our Interior Design Forum we presented a very original house, the small area of which is used with maximum benefit, and the entire design is technically accurate and modern.
What inspired the architects to design a black house?
What inspired Arquitectos Matos to design Casa Mosteiro as a black house? Was there any significance or symbolism behind this architectural choice in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal?
What inspired the choice of black for Casa Mosteiro? Was it meant to create a bold contrast with the surrounding natural landscape?
