Helen Sheppard and David Cripps bought a house in a small town in southern Australia. They liked the size of the mansion and the overall construction, but the design and layout required significant changes.
The owners of the structure wanted a comfortable structure with a unique design that would meet the basic needs of a married couple. They wished to form an open-plan kitchen, a great dining and living area with a light and welcoming atmosphere, and a new bathroom. They enlisted the help of the talented architects Rebekah and Timothy Cichero, who created an unparalleled interior design project for them.
The kitchen design is unusual, with distinctive nautical hinges, dark intricate details, and simple door moldings. The beige, white and black color palette provides a modern style. The cooking area was visually integrated with the guest salon and dining room, forming an open and airy environment.
The family dining table was enhanced by Eames chairs with an off-white seat. The huge Tolomeo floor lamp decorates the Ercol lounge chair and fills the atmosphere with radiance and warmth.
Initially the dining and living areas were decorated with slate tiles on the floor, filling the ambience with darkness. Specialists removed this material and covered the room with an amber-colored resin pour, which interestingly complemented the overall style of the apartment.
The living room was styled in an aesthetically pleasing and original way, using designer furniture and vintage accessories. A Brazilian hide on the floor, a coffee table, a modern sofa from Denmark and elegant textiles add incredible charm to the decoration of this room.
Before the renovation, it looked cozy but cramped, so the specialists removed the partitions.
The hallway is styled in a traditional Edwardian style, dominated by a snow-white hue palette and exquisite accessories.
The guest room was decorated in an impeccable manner that fills the room with tranquility and serenity. Ideal for reading and watching television. Exquisite furnishings, decorative objects and flowing drapes lend a special charm to the room.
The original vintage dresser took its place in the hallway. It was accented with unusual accessories, photo frames and a clock.
Original wallpaper with floral ornamentation gives the room a bright and relaxed character.
… and in expanding the area.
The children’s room was designed in a simple and concise manner, dominated by light surfaces and a textured wooden furniture set. Pink textiles and decorations give the bedroom a special charm and cheerful mood.
The terrace under the canopy was equipped with uncomplicated furnishings and original lighting fixtures.
The unusual house from the engineers at One Small Room in Croydon, Australia, is a wonderfully creative project. It features amazing size, unique furnishings in an ultra-modern style with textured accents, a beautiful furniture set combining vintage pieces with new objects, and a cozy atmosphere that draws close attention and public interest.
This cottage design looks fabulous! I’m really curious about the features that make it suitable for a modern family. Could you please share more details about the layout, amenities, and any specific design elements that cater to the needs of a modern family?
