Good afternoon dear members of the forum! We continue to talk about unusual projects and home designs and cabins. Today we present a Dutch farmhouse that has been wonderfully altered with modern materials and technology while retaining its naturalness. There’s no doubt that renovation and restoration are always more of a challenge for architects and designers than designing a building from scratch. The already existing limitations of this design turn the task of reconstruction into something of a creative challenge.
This is exactly the kind of work Maxwan Architects was entrusted with when the owners of an old house built back in the 80s in Noordwijk (Netherlands) decided to make their cottage the most modern renovation. Combining original rustic elements with modern extensions and additions, House N is an example of renovation, where the original character of the house has been untouched.
