John Wardle Architects presents: romance overlooking the ocean –Queenscliff Residence, Queenscliff, Australia

The exterior of the Queenscliff residence
Queenscliff residence has an unusual facade

The house layout ideas in Australia, as you, dear forum members, understand, is exactly the opposite of ours. That is, in the Southern Hemisphere, rooms facing north are brighter and warmer. For the same reason, the pleasant patio is located on the north side, which protects it from cold south winds. Inside, the kitchen, living room and dining room on the second floor convert to a large veranda with beautiful ocean views. The kitchen countertops are made of Calacatta marble.

The bedroom is located on the south side. Here, too, full-wall windows give the rooms more light and give a great view. Wood is the main material of the house. It's not just the exterior walls that are made of. The floors, partitions, furniture and staircase are made of wood. The interior staircase is enclosed by a wicker rattan banister.
