Sheiling Cottage showcases an impressive renovation of a Victorian-era specimen, celebrating the unique Victorian architectural style while also introducing modern comfort. The building has been carefully and sustainably preserved, utilizing sweet chestnut cladding, locally sourced natural stone and other eco-friendly materials. The project has resulted in high-end living while preserving the building's original features, such as fireplaces, a library, and tall ceilings. By seamlessly blending old and new, the cottage has become a homely and elegant mix of traditional style and modern amenities.
Of course, the British wouldn’t be British if they didn’t keep the traditional layout of the rooms, typical of Victorian houses.
The first floor offers a kitchen and living room where a traditional Victorian fireplace with a Saracen chimney has been replaced with an electric fireplace, making the place seem much more spacious.
The designers, again through the use of heat-saving glass and the latest construction technology, were able to achieve something that was previously impossible: bright natural light through panoramic windows. The most important thing is that they do not interfere with the maintenance of a comfortable temperature inside the house.
The grand staircase leads to the second floor. There’s a sitting area, bathroom, bathroom, study and children’s room.
