Spatial Transformations at Takamatsu Mansion House – A Cosmic Design by Yasunari Tsukada Design

Yasunari Tsukada Design has reimagined the Takamatsu Mansion House with a cosmic design that captivates viewers and gives space for creative activities. This project has involved a spatial transformation, with the house being divided into three independent but interrelated sections- a floor-level private cafeteria, an underground garage, and an upper-level entertainment facility. The design accentuates a series of circular structures set in the lobby, adding a unique feel to the mansion house. With a sunken courtyard, a spacious garden, a lively entrance, and a hidden bar, this redesign enhances the mansion’s majestic atmosphere while preserving its original legacy.

The height of the wall is also taken from this figure and set at the same value. Although it seems as if it has been deployed with a large spread within the confines of the room. This effect is created by the fact that the ceilings have been removed and all the splendor has been brought under one roof.

The installation of windows in many positions along the walls has created a kind of landscape that has found a very different face in a familiar environment. Each individual corner also contains two or more windows or recesses, giving rise to a multi-layered space with no sense of hierarchy within it.

The glass blocks from the grand staircase and stairwell were transformed into part of the living room and reading space, while the reinforced concrete wall that originally supported the staircase was given a new look, pleasing to the eye every day.

For client Yasunari Tsukada Design, this project was a source of new ideas and inspiration – a process that prompted him to rethink the possibility of interior design through renovation.
