An elegant solution to spatial problems in a narrow house

This post presents an inventive and contemporary solution for spatial problems encountered when living in a narrow house. It provides several great ideas to combine different areas of living in one simple action. For example, it suggests using the bedroom as a private seating area, if the main living area is too small; the bed can be covered with curtains, creating flexible and multifunctional space. Additionally, it presents numerous suggestions on how to make the best use of the space; including having plants on shelves and mounting furniture onto the wall. Finally, a unique feature of the solution is that it combines art and functionality, creating a stylish and pleasant living environment.

Because of the common side with the neighbors, the roof was only raised on the northern half of the building, creating an asymmetrical space inside and out of the original house. On this side, the façade is entirely glass. By connecting the two walls with beams that are unequal in height and volume, the masters made a small but original living space.
