The Fourmile Sky House by THA Architecture – a family nest at the ends of the earth, Colorado

The Fourmile Sky House, designed by THA Architecture, is a modern and sustainable family nest in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. The stunning design takes advantage of natural light, showcasing its breathtaking mountain views from the windows and decks. The interior reflects a modern aesthetic, while the outdoor area provides a tranquil and private atmosphere of relaxation. Inside, efficient spaces accommodate family living in three bedrooms and two baths, and the open living and dining areas feature a smartly designed wood-burning fireplace. The goal of this innovative home was to create a perfect balance between nature and the modern lifestyle. The residence utilizes efficient and renewable resources, such as solar energy, rainwater harvesting, led lighting, and natural ventilation systems to maximize sustainability. The end result is a unique and remarkable family home, nestled in Colorado’s most beautiful landscapes.

Today every reader of Forum City can see the house of his dreams, because there is hardly a person who can stay indifferent to this architectural masterpiece from THA Architecture. It was built at an altitude of more than 2 thousand meters in the mountains of Colorado, USA.

A few years ago, a wildfire swept through the suburbs of Boulder and destroyed most of the homes, including the one where the Frys lived. Despite the serious damage caused by the disaster, they decided to stay and build a new home that could withstand the onslaught of fire. So the idea came about to settle on the highest point of a hillside, open to all winds.
