The allure of snow-capped mountains or the wonder of engineered warmth in the Lodgepole Retreat project by Arch11, Colorado, USA

Lodgepole Retreat has been completed by Arch11. The inspiration for creating a house with such an unusual yet simple shape was the natural elevation of the soil. A simple flat roof allows for quick snow drift control while serving as a 1,000-watt photovoltaic system. Heating boilers, heat exchanger and LED lighting allow the house to function even when there is a total lack of power. All building components and materials meet high fire safety standards.
