The house we are going to talk about, located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, was designed with these requirements in mind, namely – ensuring privacy and isolation of all family members.
Several architects worked together to develop a simple and robust architectural concept, permitting a home that meets the needs of every member of the extended family. The authors tried to find the unique design solutions that would provide a high level of comfort and the configuration of the building would be simple and unobtrusive.
As you can see in the pictures, the exterior facades of the building are quite enclosed and austere. You won’t see much architectural embellishment against the white walls. Besides, most of the windows are covered by roller shutters, which makes this house even more like a secret residence. And few would guess that behind this impenetrable shell is a pretty nice patio and swimming pool, located in the center of the site, as if an extension of the rooms on the first floor. This side of the building is transformed: the almost entirely glass walls hide neither how the rooms are decorated nor who is in the house.
Of course, it is impossible not to mention the richness of the finishes. The abundance of marble and light wood does not look pretentious, but makes these modern interiors noble and aristocratic. If you look more closely you can see the domed ceiling in the kitchen, the wavy panels in the hallway on the second floor, and numerous niches. All this adds a special expressiveness to the decoration and freshness and lightness of the interior with fresh flowers.
In conclusion, the authors of the project have managed to find a rational balance between open and closed facades, as a result of which the owners obtained the desired degree of privacy, but did not cut themselves off from the outside world completely. Also the designers were able to create a harmony of strict architectural forms, to fill each detail and object with a certain meaning which allowed to obtain a complete look, and thus were able to build a house which meets all the expectations of the customers.
