Large-scale design for Mexico City’s famed Plaza Mariana religious center

Plaza Mariana, a religious center located in Mexico City, is going to be redesigned on a large-scale. This new design will include a large square and the central Plaza Mariana which will become the center's main gathering space, surrounded by terraces, landscaping, and trees. Moreover, the project will create a larger, more functional Church of the Virgin of Guadalupe as well as a Museum of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a "Casa de los Milagros". These features will bring together ecological elements and modern design that will be rooted in the Plaza’s cultural identity. The new design will offer various advantages and benefits including improved access and public areas for religious events, a renewed experience of faith in the Church’s spiritual realm, and the preservation of the historic identity of the Plaza.
