The ultramodern design of the Light of Life Protestant Church

Church "light of life" surrounded by green vegetation, mountain hills and luxurious tropical plantings

The design of the interesting house project was erected by large local companies such as Bollinger& Grohmann, AIST Fluides, ElectricitƩ, Thermique: G.I. Engineering, and the management consulting costs were handled by HanMi Global Corporation. Construction standards were overseen by shinslab and MOON Bo-Yeon.

The joint efforts of a wide range of specialists and craftsmen resulted in a unique and interesting structure that strikes with its size, fascinating exterior and fantastic interior decoration.

Layout of the "light of life" temple

The floor plan of the building is striking in its fantastic appearance and original architecture, which clearly shows the difference between the exterior and the interior. In order to minimize the impact of the building on this very mountainous and wooded area, engineers and craftsmen tried to melt the building structure in the landscape design.

The first floor of the temple "light of life" has a total area of 1500 square meters

On the other hand, the main volume of the interior space and the chapel reveals a ā€œmarvelous worldā€ with a rather different and unimaginative form. The design is an authentic universe, striking the imagination with its fantastic execution. Protestant religion has always had as a principle, a relentless struggle against all forms of idolatry that forbade painting and sculpture in places of worship. Similarly, by rejecting any sanctity of space, it seeks a form of simplicity.

Staying within the tenets of Protestantism and in the expression of Christian symbolism, the temple interior design project attempts to generate emotion from a liturgical, philosophical, spiritual, and artistic perspective.

In this dizzying institution, craftsmen and specialists have shaped a stunning circular. We can find it in the design of structures dating back to the author Calvinā€™s prescription for organizing a circular place of worship, shaped to be closer to the spirit of the early Church and the Reformation. If the Catholic religion promoted a cross-shaped basilica arrangement, the reformed traces showed the merits of the first layout.

Also for the convenience of prayer and service the architects divided the circular into several parts. The cross in the center of the circle represents a unique symbol of Christianity. Only it can claim to be the place where the views of all believers gather. This design as an amazing decoration idea was designed to show the subtlety, fragility and value of the divine structure. It is built using solid aluminum by arc-welded rupture, which seems designed to show the suffering on the cross through its brilliance and the joy of resurrection.

This element is set in the middle of a miniature pool, so that all who wish can approach it and cross the water. It symbolizes both the crossing of the Red Sea and the Jordan River by the people of Israel, but most obviously associate this ritual with baptism.

Different sizes of wood to support the dome in the temple

In order to design this mass and shape of the dome, it took a great deal of effort on the part of the craftsmen and designers. The logs on the ground function as poles that hold up the steel lattice structure. A single tree trunk was installed at each intersection. The lower structure was made with thin steel, which prevents various swaying movements and supports the depth of the dome. It is through this solid wood and the steel poles that the sunlight passes.

Unlike Catholicism, Protestantism has the singular word (Sola Scriptura) as one of its founding principles, and the development of philosophy and music came at the expense of the rejection of the visual arts. Thus, the liturgy is focused on the medium of the word (the pastor) and the music (the choir). As architects and as practicing Christians, it is through the reintroduction of images, subjects, and symbols that the emotions associated with spirituality, sacred service, and divine vision can be seen.

The Light of Life temple in South Korea is a wonderful example of how a church can be decorated in a fantastic and unusual way, with textured natural materials, surprising combinations of cladding options and creative architectural techniques, all of which keep local residents and wandering travelers interested in the structure.
