When choosing a wall-mounted mixer, pay attention to the length of the spout, that is, the distance from the wall to the center of its “nose”, which is always indicated in the technical data sheet. Today, bath mixers are available with three types of spouts: short, medium and long. Short-nosed are considered fashionable. But here the following moment is important: if the “nose” of the mixer is too short, the stream of water will hit the side of the bathtub and flow out of the bathtub. Every good bath faucet has a detailed technical card, just keep in mind that the drawings always show the distance from the wall to the center of the jet, but in fact it starts earlier. In addition, the sides of the bath themselves are different in width. The wider the side, the longer the spout will have to be taken. The height of the mixer can vary in each case, but the standard is considered to be a height of 10-15 cm from the side. This is usually enough. When an “empty” bath is ordered from the factory, the holes are selected for the specific mixer that will be installed on it, and almost any placement options are provided for within the framework of existing standards in this area.

Stand faucet – A spectacular and very beautiful option for expensive and exclusive freestanding claw-foot bathtubs in spacious washrooms. Imagine a “antique” bath in a classic style, with some kind of lion’s paws. The corresponding luxuriously decorated mixer is also matched to this. There are also modern options. This is a fully coordinated design, a complete program. Much less often, the bath and the mixer are matched to each other, but experts do not recommend doing this, because there may be discrepancies, for example, in the color of the legs of the bath and the mixer.

A stand with a mixer is usually installed next to the bathroom. It should be noted that the mixer on the counter can be installed only if the bathroom is created from scratch, since the water supply to it is carried out from below, from under the floor. For faucets on a stand, showers are usually on a flexible hose, but there are separate models in which it is permanently installed on top of a metal tube, in the manner of old showers.

Mixer on the shelf belongs to the category of design delights. This is a purely decorative move, used to create custom bathroom designs, which usually leads to a 100% increase in the cost of the project as a whole. Faucets designed to be installed on a shelf are an order of magnitude more expensive than wall-mounted ones; they are quite expensive high-design items. In this way, cascade mixers are often installed. It can look very different: it is installed in a niche or lining near the built-in bathtub, or on a podium around the bathtub, or on a specially built shelf lined with tiles or stone.

There are a variety of mounting options. The faucet can be placed almost anywhere around the bath – usually an expensive model with large dimensions and irregular shapes. With the flexible hose you can place the spout, taps and shower in different ways in relation to each other. The latter in this case is usually retractable. Experts consider this a disadvantage, since the structure wears out quickly due to the frequent extension and cleaning of the hose.
