Needed to make room for a 2-car garage, renovate and add rooms, replace windows, electrical and plumbing, install an underfloor heating system. Completely change the mahogany panels on the facade. In 2011, the current owners turned to the experts for design advice. Their desire was to: expand the kitchen and bathrooms, update the lighting and above all, create coziness with modern finishes and furniture.
The resulting cottage, a pleasant light brown color, blends seamlessly into the locale. The property now measures approximately 306 sq ft on Hewitt Avenue in Toronto.. The interior is filled with bright colors. Bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room and library are sunny and airy. White and brown tones dominate. A decorative fireplace serves as a dividing wall in the common areas. The carpets on the parquet floor are a real eye-catcher, and the wooden bench in the study is a real eye-catcher.
The house has several exits: outdoors, in the courtyard, on the porch. The changes were made in the adjoining territory. The landscape was completely redesigned with a swimming pool, slab walkways, landscaping, and a wrap-around terrace. The open stone hearth on the gravel patio is especially striking. All that is missing is the main resident of wine country – a good glass of wine!
The owners entrusted the project to Marcus & Company to renovate their former ranch house Willers Architects.
The renovation by Marcus & Willers Architects in wine country sounds fascinating! Can you please provide more details about their approach and design concepts? I’m particularly interested in how they blend the architectural elements with the natural beauty of Sonoma, California.
What specific elements did Marcus & Willers Architects incorporate into their renovation in wine country that make it so amazing? How did they blend modern design with the natural beauty of Sonoma, California?
