Interesting triangle design of a private house on a slope

This private house on a slope has an interesting triangular design that allows it to take advantage of the hill. Its three sides feature full-length windows to take in the surrounding views and bask in natural light. The interior boasts an airy atmosphere with an open floor plan that seamlessly connects all the living areas together, while providing plenty of public and private spaces. As a result, the house has a modern and comfortable feel, while still being functional and efficient in its layout. It's perfect for those who want to make the most of the natural environment.

An interesting house project designed by Robert M. Gurney Architect, located in Alexandria, USA. Its uniqueness lies in the design and layout, but the main thing is the plot on which it is built. The architects took the challenge to erect a living space on a fairly small plot, which at first glance was absolutely not suitable for the construction of. But as we’ve seen time and again, creative thinking sometimes leads to the most unexpected surprises. The plan was to erect a comfortable and spacious house, with a full range of functions, where there is not even a hint of limitation.

The luxurious facade on the street side is no different from its counterparts, but it is only a screen. On the other hand it doesn’t seem that big. The site features did not allow for a regular shape as the trees, which grow only a few meters away, would have had to be removed. Given these constraints, it was decided to build on the existing potentials and so created the shape of an irregular triangle. But the design flaws of the exterior shell have been mitigated by the clever and rational distribution of space within the residence itself.

The landscaping of the area around the house to a large extent has been created before the construction of nature itself, the designers had to add a few additional components, a little decorate it with front gardens and greenery.

On the opposite side, to which a kind of bridge goes, is a cozy bedroom and bathroom. Modest size is replaced by a rational use of space and creation of functional solutions. In this area there is a library, one of the walls is completely occupied by a system of convenient built-in closets, the space goes smoothly to the bathroom. The harmonious combination of materials and tones, the balance of light and shade, is an undeniable advantage that makes up for the lack of square footage.

An unusual house is a striking example of the fact that even on the most humble plot you can build a full-fledged residential project, where you will not feel the lack of space. Creative approach, non-standard solutions and professionalism of the architects resulted in a stylish project of a cozy residence.

The triangle design of the private house on a slope looks fascinating! I’m curious to know what advantages this design offers in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Does the triangular shape help with any specific structural considerations or take advantage of the slope in any way? Additionally, how does the unique design of the house impact its overall layout and use of space?
