This remarkable home is located a few kilometers north of Cape Town, South Africa, on the edge of a nature reserve. The unique nature, the ocean surf, light breezes โ itโs a truly heavenly place, as described by the authors of the construction project, and Forum City is in complete agreement with them.
The clients had standard requirements โ they wanted a fashionable house with a full range of civilization achievements within the limits of a strictly defined budget.
The challenge of the architects was to integrate a modern building into a wild landscape. This rectangular two-storey house of 600 m2 consists of 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a spacious living-dining room, several intermediate halls and a study, terraces and balconies.
Virtually every room has a majestic ocean view. The monolithic-frame structure of reinforced concrete allowed for bold vertical forms. Front and rear units are connected by a gallery.
The furniture was chosen based on the general concept. Strictness and brevity of the lines successfully underlined by the warmth of natural wood. An undoubted advantage โ high 3-meter high ceilings, thus achieving visual proportionality of the open space.
This coastal country home sounds incredibly intriguing! Iโm curious to know more about the specifics of this landmark project. Who are the architects/developers behind it? What unique features or design elements make this home stand out? Can you provide any details on the location and surrounding environment?
