According to the architects: “The mansion is located on Vega Island in the Norwegian archipelago near the Arctic Circle. The building is distinctive for the rugged landscape with amazing panoramas of the Norwegian sea and craggy mountains rising under gray clouds. Seemingly growing out of an expressive and picturesque landscape, the exceptional mansion sits on a cliff beneath granite rocks in rugged terrain. In order to preserve the dominant view of the vast sapphire sea, access to the building is provided through a narrow natural ravine densely overgrown with stunted birches, shrubs, low-growing grass and sea sand from the nearby shore.”.
