Sustainable home project: Wedge House by SOUP Architects

The Wedge House by SOUP Architects is an ambitious, modern sustainable home project, designed to make a positive impact on the environment. Its exemplary features include a rainwater harvesting system, thermally efficient construction, natural ventilation, and the use of solar energy. Additionally, the house incorporates elements such as rooftop gardens with lush green plants and a modern green-colored faรงade to serve as insulation from extreme heat during summer. The Wedge House is an ideal example of how to reduce our environmental footprint, using innovative green designs and unprecedented energy efficiency tactics.

The building is oriented towards the east, so that the maximum amount of day and evening light falls on the solar panels on the roof. Natural energy helps to heat the water in the water system, which, by the way, gets all the rain water. Thus, the designers decided to partially reduce the cost of the family on water and heating.

The clients wanted the rooms in the house to be spacious, the interior – cozy and informal, and the geometry of the building – asymmetrical. Another important wish was to create a close – functional and visual relationship between the inside of the house and the surrounding garden. The latter was realized thanks to panoramic windows.
