House with exotic name Tunquén designed by Branko Pavlovic& Pablo Lobos-Pedrals, located in Chile by the sea.
A marvelous view surrounds the villa – emerald hills drop down to a blue arch of sea shore, the air is saturated with a mixture of herbs and ocean. The structure is completely lightweight because it is made entirely of pine wood and has a solid concrete foundation. The wood surfaces of the interior walls are unpainted and reflect the natural colors streaming in through the massive window openings. Outside the building seems very dark, at dusk it seems to merge with the surface of the hill, and only the light in the windows gives away its water surface.
The layout is designed to accommodate a family with children. The house has a parental bedroom and two teenage bedrooms, a warm stylish wooden kitchen, dining room, living room and an extraordinary terrace. The property is so far from the centralized water supply lines that it is powered by solar panels and supplied with water from its own independent well. Probably the dream of every modern man – to have a refuge where you can escape from the bustle of the city with a favorite book in hand under the sound of the sea surf.
